Is it just me or does it always happen that when you read a novel it reminds you of yourself or someone you know? I mean when I read a novel I try to understand the novel from the third person - so to speak. When I read Winter Dreams by Fitzgerald I was just wowed. I think many men and perhaps even a few woman have met a person they could not have but could not get over both emotionally and physically. Love can play us all for fools at one time or another but when you find the person that no matter what you do your mind always goes racing back to what if, or just maybe, and all you end up with is another broken heart and torn emotions.
Winter Dreams was a great read for me and yes like I said it reminded me of both myself and a few people I know. Why is it like that? Even though you know you are going to be played and lied to, but yet you still chase the person and want them? Humans are uncanny creatures and I think that no matter what life throws at us we will always find a method of dealing with it...because humans will always prevail.
I just wanted to say, Thank you! I was flipping through, trying to decide which story to read for the last assignment I need to do when I gave up to do some blogging. After reading your post I will be reading Winter Dreams. I always love when someone is truly impressed with a story and is eager to tell about it. I think I will enjoy the showcase of human nature as you have described! Thank you for the inspiration! :)
